Geological Technician

At Hujak Mining Limited Company, our geological team is the backbone of exploration and drilling services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and hard-working geological technician to support fieldwork, sampling, and data collection. This role is vital in ensuring accurate and reliable information for mineral exploration and drilling operations.

What You Will Do

  • Assist geologists in field mapping, sampling, and drilling programs.
  • Collect, label, and prepare rock, soil, and core samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Carry out core logging and geotechnical measurements under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate field notes, records, and databases.
  • Operate and maintain geological and drilling equipment.
  • Assist in setting up and monitoring exploration drill sites.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during field operations.
  • Support the preparation of geological reports, maps, and presentations.
  • Perform any other technical support duties assigned by the Lead Geologist.

 

 

Who We’re Looking For

 

  • A Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a Field Assistant, Geological Technician, or Drilling Assistant is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of sampling techniques, core logging, and basic geological principles.
  • Ability to use field tools and basic geological software (ArcGIS, MS Excel).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and able to work in challenging field environments.
  • A team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Community Liaison Officer

We are seeking a proactive and culturally sensitive Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to serve as the primary link between the company, local communities, and stakeholders. This role is essential in fostering trust, ensuring transparent communication, and supporting sustainable development initiatives.

What You Will Do

 

  • Act as the first point of contact between the company and host communities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and residents.
  • Organize and participate in community meetings, consultations, and stakeholder forums.
  • Support the implementation of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Handle community feedback, grievances, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide regular updates to management on community issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (EHS, HR, Operations) to ensure community needs are considered in decision-making.
  • Assist in developing programs that promote employment, education, health, and local business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghana’s mining regulations and community engagement standards.
  • Perform any other duties related to community engagement as assigned by management.

 

 

Who We’re Looking For

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Sociology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or CSR, preferably in the mining or extractive industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
  • High integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently to mining sites.
  • Proficiency in local languages (in addition to English) is an advantage.

Environment, Health, & Safety Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies. This role is essential in protecting the well-being of employees, contractors, and the communities where we operate.

What You will Do

 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures at all mining and support service sites.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
  • Organise regular safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce compliance.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure environmental sustainability practices.
  • Collaborate with management to implement environmental protection initiatives (waste management, land reclamation, pollution control).
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation for regulatory bodies and audits.
  • Perform any other safety and environmental responsibilities assigned by management.

 

Who We’re Looking For

 

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Mining Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, IEMA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in EHS, preferably in the mining, construction, or extractive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS laws, regulations, and standards in Ghana.
  • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
