Geological Technician
At Hujak Mining Limited Company, our geological team is the backbone of exploration and drilling services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and hard-working geological technician to support fieldwork, sampling, and data collection. This role is vital in ensuring accurate and reliable information for mineral exploration and drilling operations.
What You Will Do
- Assist geologists in field mapping, sampling, and drilling programs.
- Collect, label, and prepare rock, soil, and core samples for laboratory analysis.
- Carry out core logging and geotechnical measurements under supervision.
- Maintain accurate field notes, records, and databases.
- Operate and maintain geological and drilling equipment.
- Assist in setting up and monitoring exploration drill sites.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during field operations.
- Support the preparation of geological reports, maps, and presentations.
- Perform any other technical support duties assigned by the Lead Geologist.
Who We’re Looking For
- A Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- Previous experience as a Field Assistant, Geological Technician, or Drilling Assistant is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sampling techniques, core logging, and basic geological principles.
- Ability to use field tools and basic geological software (ArcGIS, MS Excel).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging field environments.
- A team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
