Commercial Manager - DHL Express

Role Context

Responsible for driving growth , strengthening customer loyalty and retention, and creating a high performing sales organization to meet and exceed country revenue and profitability growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leads the country's sales organization and is responsible for overall business growth, development and performance.
  2.  Builds strong commercial plans aligned with our Focus strategy, regional / country priorities and market opportunities to aggressively Grow DHL International (TDI) Business.
  3.  Provides measurable input into Namibia's overall business strategy with a focus on sales within Express guidelines.
  4.  Develops and implements sales strategies, tools and processes in line with overall DHL guidelines.
  5.  Drives the country's market growth and customer retention.
  6.  Reviews and advices on pricing, product mix, and brand portfolio policies.
  7.  Supports customer strategies, contract negotiations and supply chain management strategy.
  8.  Defines improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness.
  9.  Analyses the value of key technologies and industry development and identifies change needs within the sales function.
  10.  Identifies problems and updates or modifies working methods without defined procedures.
  11.  Reviews and monitors sales performance periodically and refines sales strategies as required
  12.  Determines improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness.
  13.  Influences Marketing initiatives in country.
  14.  Persuades other internal and occasionally external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there may be little interest in cooperating or participating.
  15.  Builds strong relationships and co-ordination strategies with marketing and regional sales structures to enhance working processes and productivity.
  16.  Approves all major country sales strategy and development projects.
  17.  Recruits and develops the members of the country's sales leadership team; keeps them motivated and oversees their task assignments.
  18.  Approves key personnel decisions for the function.
  19.  Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to company and division.
  20.  Leads and manages teams; determines team structure, roles, performance targets in co-operation with country leadership.
  21. Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

Education

 Bachelor’s Degree in Business / equivalent

 Marketing / Sales Management Qualification is an added advantage

Experience

  1.  5 years minimum prior experience in a sales leadership role
  2.  Acquaintance with business development or marketing
  3.  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  4.  Strong leadership skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  5.  Express / Supply Chain knowledge is an advantage.
  6.  English proficiency

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, tech-savvy self-starter who will collaborate with the marketing team to build and strategize new marketing campaigns. You will be managing different projects and providing support for advertising campaigns. As Marketing Associate, you will build the effort to take Ladder from 0 to 1 through brand development, user acquisition, and engagement. You will contribute to executing our go-to-market strategy, refining our brand identity, and delivering strategic initiatives across various growth x marketing functions to evolve it, including: performance marketing, product marketing, content, community engagement, events, activations, and partnerships. For this role, what we really want is someone who is smart, data-driven, a quick learner, and knows how to take things beyond the finish line.

Responsibilities

  1. Implement an effective content marketing strategy that aligns with Ladder’s goals and objectives and gain extensive knowledge on user personas
  2. Collaborate with design team to execute our creative vision, produce and align quality content publication and promotion through setting and executing production workflows.
  3. Post and maintain multi-platform content across social media, digital and offline channels
  4. Contribute to and coordinate marketing campaigns; design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR, and other multi-channel marketing efforts (digital, press, etc)
  5. Develop creative ideas on how to engage our audience online and offline, while organizing various initiatives to cultivate and grow engagement within our community
  6. Ensure that all communications align with our brand essence, add value and drive inbound traffic into our product and brand
  7. Continuously collect data about target customer segments and personas
  8. Leverage research and analysis to devise strategies to acquire, retain, and engage our users
  9. Create and maintain reports with a focus on quantitative marketing metrics and KPIs

About You

  1. Knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding.
  2. Digital marketing experience in website, mobile app and online campaign flow development
  3. Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with demonstrably impressive copywriting ability
  4. Strong analytical thinker with proven ability to translate data into results-oriented strategies
  5. Familiarity with social media management, web analytics and SEO for digital platforms.
  6. Excited about marketing possibilities in new technologies and emerging trends.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

Nice-to-haves

  1. - Fintech experience
  2. - A writing sample or portfolio/references to your work
  3. - Agency experience is a plus
  4. - Some statistics knowledge (eg. if you've have taken a few certs/courses/college credits)


Work Hours


Generally, this role is expected to put in a total of 40 hours of quality work weekly. You will be expected to put in the hours necessary to deliver agreed outputs and meet milestones.


We work mostly async, with an expectation of online responsiveness between 10AM to 6PM GMT.

Job Purpose

6. Selling the products of the company (heavy duty vehicles, light duty vehicles, SUVs and machines). 

7. Help identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation. 

8. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns. 

9. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services

10. Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data

11. Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences

12. Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams and many more. 

Academic qualification and Skills:

  1. Bachelors degree or higher in Marketing and it's related courses.
  2. A minimum of 2 years working experience as a Sales Executive/Marketer in the automobile industry is preferable.  
  3. Excellent communication skills. Good appearance and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work in a target driven environment. 
  5. Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges


SALARY: Attractive

Basic plus Sales Commision.
