RECEPTIONIST / CASHIER

REPORTS TO : House Manager, Front Office Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Higher National Diplomal BSc. Hospitality Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a 4* to 5* hotel in a
    Front Office Position.
  • Ability to analyze information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Ability to maintain a high sense of integrity, being honest and ethical.
  • Ability to work extra hours, extra shifts and be willing to cover for a gap in the schedule.
  • Ability to speak French, an added advantage.
  • Ability to use the applications of Microsoft office, including word, excel and Opera.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles guest check-ins and check outs effectively.
  • Administers all reservations, cancellations and no-shows, in line with company policy.
  • Allocate rooms for crew and ensure that the crew list has the Terms & Conditions of the hotel.
  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via email.
  • Be abreast with current promotions and hotel pricing in order to provide information to guests when requested while maximizing bedroom sales opportunities.
  • Deals with credit card and cashiering transactions.
  • Performs daily pit- checks.
  • Prepares full credit limit report, send letters to guest and follow up on payments.
  • Prepare end of shift summary report.
  • Evacuates guests in cases of emergency, and acts as first point of contact.
  • Assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Delivers excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensures that all guests complaints are handled appropriately, efficiently and most importantly are resolved.
