Competence (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) Skills:
- Good knowledge of Ghana Civil Aviation Directives requirements
- Good level of numeracy and computer literacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Qualification and Experience
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Must be qualified in accordance with GCAD IS 9.2.2.2 (e) (g)
- 3 years of experience in Safety Management
- Assist the Head of Safety in coordinating safety activities of the safety officers in the
- various departments.
- Acts as Safety (SMS) coordinator within the Safety Action Group.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards as specified in IOSA and other bodies.
- Help in the investigation of safety reports.
- Compile safety reports and records.
- Maintain SMS Documentation, Planning and Organizing staff training for the organization.
- Ensure System Compliance and auditing.
- Assess safety process regularly and review any risks posed by the process.
- Ability to conduct safety planning.
- Administrating of the electronic database system (SERA).
- Assist to perform safety and quality audits.
- Facilitate cross-department communication in the implementation of SMS
- Document hazard and air safety reports reviewed by Head of Safety for uploaded unto
- the database.
- Summarize the weekly reports for the safety department using the (SERA) database.
- Write out reports for presentation during safety meetings, twice a week (Fridays &
- Mondays).
- Send out safety information communicated by the Head of Safety (usually via phone and
- email) to various departments.
- Conduct safety research, as requested.
- Undertake Special Projects as needed.
