Role Focus
Lead the safe and efficient management of warehouse operations for the Akyem Mill Expansion Project, ensuring the timely receipt, storage, issuance, and accountability of materials in line with Zijin standards, policies, and values.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users to ensure effective parts supply and service delivery.
- Foster clear communication between Logistics, Inventory Planning, and Sourcing & Procurement teams to align on inventory requirements, distribution performance, and operational expectations.
- Design and maintain an effective warehouse layout and cataloguing system to enhance inventory control and accessibility.
- Partner with end-users to deliver responsive and efficient warehousing support.
- Collaborate with the Projects team to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize stock holdings, and provide regular updates on warehouse performance and activities to management.
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including safe handling, storage, and organization of materials.
- Establish and optimize distribution channels to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials to end users.
- Develop, implement, and monitor inventory preservation programs to protect materials from damage, deterioration, and environmental exposure.
- Ensure that shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders.
- Ensure timely receipts, binning, issuance of spares and inventory integrity.
- Manage the efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of inventory to support operational requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee all warehouse logistics.
- Ensure proper transport, packaging, and placement of products.
- Ensure various inventory counts; order supplies and goods as needed.
- Ensure all warehouse operations are in compliance with Zijin safety requirements.
- Assist in identifying training and knowledge gaps within the Warehouse section and contribute to the development of suitable training interventions.
- Develop skills and abilities of direct and indirect reports.
- Improve warehouse work processes.
Work Environment
• This position is based at the Akyem mine site.
Training and Experience
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
Additional Knowledge
• Knowledge of System Implementation methodology.
• Knowledge of Maintenance Planning.
• Supply Chain functional knowledge.
• Knowledge of P2P transactional processes.
• ERP/EAP System knowledge.
• Warehouse Management
Industry Experience
• Minimum of 3-5years’ working experience in warehouse operations in the mining industry.
