Position: Maintenance Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our mobile equipment maintenance division. This role is responsible for the reliability, availability, and cost-effective maintenance of a large fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who will drive safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and reliability, ensuring production targets are met.
Fleet Management: Oversee all maintenance activities for the mobile equipment fleet, including preventive and corrective maintenance, component change-outs, and major overhauls.
Budget & Cost Control: Manage the annual operating and capital budgets, controlling costs related to labour, parts, and consumables while maintaining efficiency.
Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-harm safety culture, ensuring all work complies with Ghana's Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Mining Regulations.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, and artisans.
Inventory & Supply Chain: Monitor parts availability and inventory levels to support maintenance schedules and minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvements: Implement continuous improvement tools to optimize maintenance processes and asset life.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
Master's degree preferred.
2. Certification
- Must possess a valid Engineering Manager's Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
3. Experience
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in engineering maintenance, with at least 5–7 years in a senior management role.
4. Technical Skills
Extensive experience with surface mobile mining equipment (trucks, excavators, loaders, drills).
Proficiency with maintenance systems.
Knowledge of Maintenance and Repair Contracts is highly advantageous.
5. Soft Skills
Proven leadership.
Strong financial acumen.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
