Role Profile – Utilities Engineer
Function/Department: Industrial Operations / Engineering

Reports To: Site Engineering & Asset Care Manager
Job Level/Grade: L5A
Purpose of the Role:
To ensure the reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness operation and maintenance of all utilities systems
(steam, water, refrigeration, compressed air, CO₂ recovery and Generation, and Waste Water Treatment
Plants) to achieve uninterrupted utility service provision to the production plants. The role drives compliance
with safety, quality, environmental, and energy standards while leading continuous improvement to optimize
performance, resource utilization, and cost efficiency.
Key Accountabilities:
• Ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, and Statutory standards to
achieve zero lost time accidents (LTA).
• Manage and optimize the operation and performance of utilities plants (water, steam, refrigeration,
compressed air, CO₂ recovery and generation) to meet business targets.
• Oversee statutory inspections, preventive maintenance, and planned works to enhance equipment
reliability, efficiency, and asset life.
• Lead utilities maintenance projects and cost-control initiatives to improve performance and reduce
operating expenses.
• Provide accurate technical reports, data, and performance updates to support decision-making and
effective communication.
• Lead, coach, and develop the utilities team, building technical capability and ensuring training and
development needs are met.
• Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in asset care, ensuring sustainable and
reliable utilities operations.
Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.:
• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities engineering/maintenance within manufacturing, preferably
in FMCG or beverage industry.
• Strong knowledge of utilities systems operations, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Proven experience in energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives.
• Proven people management and leadership skills
