Job Summary
The accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, controlling production-related costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role supports management decision-making by providing timely and reliable financial information for the water and beverage production operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and financial statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Production & Cost Accounting
- Monitor and record production costs, including raw materials, packaging, labour, utilities, and overheads
- Conduct cost analysis for water, drinks and spices production
- Support pricing decisions by providing cost and margin analysis
- Track wastage, spoilage, and variances in production inputs
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain accurate records of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Reconcile physical stock with accounting records
- Support periodic stock counts and inventory audits
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns, statutory deductions, and regulatory reports
- Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) requirements and other relevant authorities
- Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation on tax
Budgeting & Financial Control
- Supervise the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and report variances
- Support management in cost control and financial planning
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ICA Ghana, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 2-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Good knowledge of Excel and financial analysis tools
