Job Overview

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance, maintenance, and utilization of all company supply vans. The role ensures that vehicles are roadworthy, cost-efficient, and used in line with company policies. This includes monitoring fuel consumption, tracking supply routes, coordinating repairs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting drivers to achieve safe and efficient deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee regular servicing and repairs of vans.

Role Profile – Technical Stores Manager

Function/Department: Industrial Operations / Engineering

Location: Kaase

Reports To: Site Engineering & Asset Care Manager

Job Level/Grade: L6A

Purpose of the Role:

To manage the engineering technical stores and ensure the availability of spare parts, other materials, 

required for efficient plant maintenance and operations. The role ensures accurate inventory management, 

cost assignment and controls, compliance with stores and procurement standards, vendor and OEM 

management and effective support to the Engineering and Production teams.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, and Statutory standards to 

achieve zero lost time accidents (LTA).

• Ensure that all stocks in the Stores are kept safely and stored under their desired conditions.

• Manage the receipt, storage, issuance, and availability of engineering spares, consumables, and 

critical parts.

• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels, and documentation in compliance with company 

policies.

• Implement effective stock control measures, including regular cycle counts, obsolescence management, and KPI reporting.

• Ensure critical spares are always kept up to date

• Ensure that stores transactions are charged to the appropriate cost centers

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Supplies to forecast needs, secure timely deliveries, 

and support planned work orders.

• Monitor stock usage, costs, and supplier performance, providing reports to management.

• Supervise and develop store staff, ensuring adherence to procedures, safety, quality, and 

housekeeping standards.

• Ensure 10% stock count is done as per Global Spares parts policy on monthly basis.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of 

stores operations.

Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.:

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical stores, inventory, or warehouse management, preferably in 

FMCG or process manufacturing.

• Strong knowledge of engineering spare parts and maintenance materials.

• Proficiency in ERP /Computerized Maintenance Management systems and inventory management 

tools.

• Demonstrated supervisory and team management skills.

• Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and budget management skill

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure safe, high-quality production in compliance with Food Safety and Quality Management 

System requirements.

• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to Occupational Health & Safety standards, 

challenging unsafe behaviors, and enforcing site procedures.

• Lead and develop the shift team through coaching, training, and motivation, fostering multiskilling to achieve business objectives

• Monitor hourly production performance, focusing on OEE, downtime, quality, and waste, and 

maintain effective team communication.

• Drive product quality by ensuring “Right First Time” delivery against process control parameters.

• Address non-conformance promptly using Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) and share 

learnings to prevent recurrence.

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, industrial networks, and electrical 

distribution.

• Experience with packaging line automation will be an advantage.

• Proven supervisory skills with the ability to lead and develop a technical team.

Key Accountabilities:

• Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety standards, act as a visible safety ambassador and challenge 

unsafe behaviours.

• Comply with all Food Safety and Quality Management System requirements to ensure safe and highquality product output.

• Operate, clean, and maintain assigned plant and equipment; respond promptly to breakdowns and 

support efficient production.

• Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to maximize equipment availability and 

operational efficiency.

• Manage and account for materials, components, and spare parts required for equipment upkeep.

• Provide support across the team during breakdowns or maintenance activities; demonstrate 

flexibility in work practices.

• Work closely with the Shift Manager to meet production targets and customer service levels.

• Engage in continuous training and development; support the upskilling of team members and foster 

collaborative working relationships.

• Complete and interpret required operational and maintenance reports, including logs, checklists, and 

condition monitoring sheets.

• Minimum of HND or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• 1-3 years’ hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial 

environment.

• Exposure to FMCG or beverage production equipment preferred.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults efficiently.

• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Manage and optimize the operation and performance of utilities plants (water, steam, refrigeration,
