THE POSITION:

We are seeking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced, and passionate Business Studies teacher to join our Secondary School team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, student-centered Business Studies lessons that inspire learners to develop entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, and a strong understanding of business concepts. The teacher will prepare students for Cambridge International examinations while promoting academic excellence and the school's core values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan and deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons in accordance with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
  2. Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level examinations.
  3. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
  4. Assess, monitor, record, and report students' academic progress using a variety of assessment methods.
  5. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  6. Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and entrepreneurial skills.
  7. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  8. Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.
  9. Provide academic support, mentoring, and guidance to students.
  10.  Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, staff meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
  11. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  12. Uphold the school's safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct policies.
  13. Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence and collaboration
  14. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
  15. Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or Head of Secondary School.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications and Experience

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Master’s degree qualification in Business Education is preferred.
  3. Teaching certification in the Cambridge curriculum is desirable
  4.  At least 5 years of teaching experience in the Cambridge IGCSE and A-level and a good track record of students' successes.
  5. Demonstrated success in preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and AS & A Level examinations.
  6. Strong knowledge of current teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
  7. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  8. High level of ICT competence with the ability to integrate digital tools into teaching.
  9. A commitment to continuous professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:   

✓ Design, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that ignite curiosity and promote a love for the French language and literature.   

✓ Establish clear learning objectives, structured lesson plans, and effective instructional sequences tailored to the needs of IGCSE and A-Level students.   

✓ Employ diverse teaching strategies to cater to varied learning styles and academic levels.   

✓ Integrate technology seamlessly to enrich classroom experiences and facilitate effective language acquisition. 

Language & Literature Development:   

✓ Teach core principles of French, including advanced grammar, vocabulary, syntax and literary analysis.   

✓ Cultivate students’ appreciation, understanding and critical engagement with French literature and culture.   

✓ Enhance verbal communication skills through reading, discussion, debate and presentations.   

✓ Develop students’ writing abilities across various genres and formats aligned with curriculum standards.   

✓ Promote critical thinking and analytical reasoning in all facets of language and literary study. 

Classroom & Behavior Management:   

✓ Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation.   

✓ Promote independent and collaborative learning experiences.   

✓ Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies to ensure a positive and productive atmosphere.   

✓ Oversee student behavior during extracurricular activities as needed. 

Assessment & Progress Monitoring:   

✓ Track student progress through formative and summative assessments.   

✓ Design, administer and evaluate assessments that align with curriculum objectives.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and A‑Level French. 

• Valid teaching certification/license. 

• Excellent command of French and modern pedagogical approaches. 

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
